Why worry? We have you covered
You are always covered when driving with Avis - Standard Cover is included with all rentals in Finland.
For complete peace of mind during your rental, we offer a variety of additional cover packages to reduce your excess, or to protect and support you in the event of an accident or vehicle breakdown.
Without additional cover packages, the excess amount is 1,200-4,000 euros depending on the car group. The excess can be removed or reduced with Super Cover or Super Cover Plus packages.
What’s included in Standard Cover?
The price of every rental includes:
- Help with mechanical faults, non-driver battery issues, or manufacturing defects
- Local emergency support across Europe, the Middle East and Africa
Please note that incidents due to driver error may incur charges.
Excluded from Standard Cover:
- Excess payable in event of theft or damage
- Running out of fuel
- Lost/damaged keys
- Tyre damage from misuse
- Incorrect fuel
- Flat battery due to lights or electrics left on

Roadside Safety Net (RSN)
Our Roadside Safety Net helps you on the road 24/7 in common problems like flat tyres and locked-in keys - and you don't pay any call-out charges. This add-on is already included when you buy our Super Cover Plus package. You can also add RSN to any booking online or at the counter for an extra cost.
Windscreen cover
This covers windscreen cracks and rock chips. Windscreen cover is not included in any of the cover packages above. You can add Windscreen cover to your booking for extra cost at the counter when you pick up your vehicle. This product is not purchasable online.
Personal Accident Insurance (PAI)
Personal Accident Insurance will provide additional cover for driver and passenger following an accident, including emergency medical care or transportation. Personal Accident Insurance is not included in any of the cover packages above. You can add PAI to your booking for extra cost at the counter when you pick up your vehicle. This product is not purchasable online.
Complete Protection Package
Complete Protection is a cover package that you can purchase only at the counter when picking up your car. It includes all additional cover products available in Finland, that is:
- Reduced Damage excess for all passenger cars. Collision damage waiver ensures you are covered if your vehicle is damaged and repairs are required.
- Reduced Theft excess for all passenger cars. Theft protection ensures you are covered if your vehicle is stolen.
- Roadside Safety Net Our roadside safety net helps you on the road 24/7 in common problems like flat tires and locked-in keys - and you don't pay any call-out charges.
- Windscreen Cover for windscreen cracks and rock chips.
- Personal Accident Insurance that will provide additional cover for driver and passenger following an accident,

Yes. If you add our Complete Protection Package or Roadside Safety Net (RSN) to your booking, we’ll provide a replacement vehicle or help you complete your journey.
